Mr. Zises co-founded Family Management Corporation with Andrea L. Tessler in 1989, a wealth management firm.
Mr. Zises continues a family tradition of leadership and support for Israel Bonds, where he was a distinguished honoree at the Prime Minister’s Club Gala. In addition, he is a retired President of the Baron de Hirsch Fund and a retired board member of the UJA-Federation of New York. He founded the Associates of the American Friends of the Israel Museum, co-founded the Roundtable Political Action Committee, and has chaired major fundraising dinners for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. He is also involved with the Jaffa Institute, YIVO Institute for Jewish Research, Colel Chabad, the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services, and the Israel Crisis Center. Mr. Zises received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from New York University, where he has served as Vice Chair of the Bronfman Center for Jewish Life.
He is also the President and Chief Executive Officer of Family Management Securities, LLC, a FINRA-registered broker-dealer, and of Forest Hill Capital Corporation, a New York insurance agent. All three firms are part of the Family Management Group of Companies that provide overall financial counsel to families and their related entities.
Andrea L. Tessler received a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University. She has been actively involved in supporting Cornell for over two decades, and currently serves on the Cornell University Advisory Council to the College of Arts & Sciences. Andrea L. Tessler also sits on the Board of Trustees of The Harvey School, an independent private college-preparatory institution for students in grades 6 through 12. For many years Andrea L. Tessler served on the board of the All Stars Project, an organization that creates educational and performing arts activities for thousands of underprivileged and minority young people. In 2002 and 2013 she was honored by them for her leadership role.
She is also Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Family Management Securities, LLC, a FINRA-registered broker-dealer, and of Forest Hill Capital Corporation, a New York State licensed insurance agent. All three firms are part of the Family Management Group of Companies that provide overall financial counsel to families and their related entities.
Mr. Schawel was appointed Chief Investment Officer of Family Management Corporation in 2017. He joined the firm from New River Investments where he managed private investment portfolios. From 2008 to 2015, he was Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Square 1 Financial and sat on the investment committee for Square 1 Asset Management. Prior to Square 1, David held various positions in equity research and investment banking. David is a Chartered Financial Analyst and graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a concentration in Finance.
Mr. Sucic is a Managing Director of Family Management Corporation with responsibility for client relationship management. He has been employed by the firm since February 2000. Prior to this, he was employed by Scudder Kemper Investments. He is also a registered representative of Family Management Securities, LLC, a FINRA-registered broker-dealer and an agent of Forest Hill Capital Corporation. Mr. Sucic received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine.
Mr. Tarantini has been at Family Management Corporation since August 2013. Prior to this, he spent the previous nine years in the financial services industry, most recently at Bernstein Global Wealth Management where he worked in their Private Client Group. He is also a registered representative of Family Management Securities, LLC, a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Mr. Tarantini received his Bachelor of Arts from New York University and his Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Fordham University.
Mr. Nardis manages the Alternative Investment portfolio at Family Management Corporation. He was employed by the firm from 2010 through 2013, at which time he formed his own Alternative Investment advisory business, BlueOak Capital Advisors, LLC, and became a consultant to Family Management Corporation and other single family offices. Prior to this, he was employed by UBS in the Alternative & Quantitative Investments Group and also worked as the lead analyst for the family office of Jerome Kohlberg, co-founder of KKR. Mr. Nardis received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Iona College.
